The Everyday People Project

I met Mary while in Maine with Daisy Martinez - who was holding a cooking class on Whitehead Light Station. From the moment I first saw her - I knew I was supposed to meet her - she had the most familiar face - and her hair and eyebrows were FIERCE.

She was shy, very guarded and seemed scared of me. Usually this would trigger some complex for me to torture myself with….

One day, she was looking out the window and I decided to take her picture, when I reviewed my photos - I saw that she was smirking. SOLD.

From here, I took a pictures of her everyday in a variety of t shirts with slogans on them. But it wasn’t until we all got by the fire on the last day that I felt like I was getting to know her. She was gonna let me in - but she was watching me.

Social Networking allowed me to keep up with Mary, so one day I invited her over for a chat. In this first video, Mary talks to me about friendship, betrayal, faith, hope, freedom, death, Bon Jovi, ghosts, and more.

About

The Everyday People Project is a web based docu-series that explores the stories of everyday people without a privacy filter. I meet with strangers and pose questions about faith, love, hope, survival, and anything else that comes up. The footage is then posted on social networks as a living and breathing archive of the human experience.
